Opening Year Retreat: Speak Lord For Your Servant is Listening

The retreat was conducted by Fr. Christopher Letikirich, CSC., to the Consolata Seminarians. it was also a great moment which the community was able to welcome the first year and the third years entering the postulancy stage. Hence Fr. Chris helped us to appreciate our vocation and the mother church as well, which is the fountain of redemption for many Christians. He helped us appreciate the different kinds of retreat we have which helped us understand that we have the preached, directed and the private. but for our case we had the directed retreat where the priest was able to help us journey with Christ using Luke 24: 17-32, where Jesus revealed himself to the disciples of Emmaus and broke bread and hence they become the missionaries and went back to the apostles and told them what they had seen and heard from Jesus and as they were explaining Jesus appeared to them. and in deed we have been commissioned to also be the apostles of Jesus who spread the Good News to those we meet.

The last day which was on a Friday 09/08/2013, Father was able to take us to the journey of conversion where we were able to use the book of Luke 15 where the prodigal son went back to the father and asked for mercy and forgiveness, but we were able to see that here the father was the one who was at the looking and was always looking when the son will come back. Therefore this is the way God our father is always at the look to see when we shall come back from sin, coz he is always ready to embrace us. we concluded with confessions and adorations and there after with mass at 5.30pm.

it was also a privilege for seminarian Bertino Kelai Letikirich who is a Consolata being together for mass with his brother Fr. Chris Letikirich. It was in deed a blessing for us, as we see that the church is big and full of diversity and gifts.
