He worked for 2 years as an Engineer in Petroleum and later did the Military Service. He was a Catechist for 10 years at Consolata Parish in the Barrio Mutis and his decision to join the Consolata Missionaries came as result of his constant contact with the members of the Consolata Congregation, especially the Consolata Sisters. In 14th January 2008 David joined the Consolata Missionaries at José Allamano Philosophical Seminary in Medellin where he did his Philosophical studies in the years 2008-2009 and his Postulantado in 2009. In 2010 he did his Noviciate at Martín Coronado (Argentina) culminating with his First Religious Profession on 29th December 2010 at the same place. After the First religious profession David was destined to Kenya for his Theological Studies, where he arrived on 30th January 2011. After completing the English course at Consolata Language Centre in July 2011 he joined Tangaza University College for his Theological Studies; at present date he had completed his second year of studies. As apostolate he worked at Soweto slum at Kahawa West Parish – Nairobi - from February 2011 to December 2012 and Riruta Parish from January 2013 to May of the same year. On 11th May he was sent to Alendu Parish in Kisumu for his long Holiday Pastoral Experience. After being admitted at Saint Elizabeth Hospital Chiga he received treatment of Malaria for four days with significant improvement, after which he suddenly deteriorated and finally passed on, on the 03rd July 2013 at Chiga – Kenya.
He was laid to rest on Monday 8th July 2013 at Mathari, Nyeri. the funeral was conducted by His Grace Rev. Peter Kairo. David was showered with praises from friends and all who knew him as a man on the run, never sitting on one place. Even the testimony Fr. Magak gave out when David fought discrimination on his colour when he told the people of Chiga not to call him Mzungu and said, “Usiseme Mzungu sema Daudi.” David was a real missionary who tried speaking the local languages wherever he was sent to. People wept and especially his classmates at Allamano house who could not contain it when they read a sweet poem for their dear friend and brother. Goodbye David till we meet again.
