It was a colorful ceremony at Mundika parish,Bungoma Diocese as his Lordship Bishop Norman Kingoo Wambua celebrated mass of the solemn vows for the Benedictine sisters of our Lady of Grace and Compassion: Sr.s Benerdatte Mutinda, Jemima Nabwire, Ethel Wanzala,Stella Mutenyo,Cecily Barasa,Maureen Mulunda, Antonia Makokha took their final vows in the congregation.
He focused his homily on vocation. As a priest are u a role model and stand in the footsteps of Jesus to call others to serve with your action words and deeds. When you look back at your priesthood what do u see you have achieved if there is no one to replace you in the religious life. Vocations come from the family priest should provide favourable environment for family and be role model to the young people who are the future of the church. The youth should be raised to know the church and more so our catholic faith. We can sing the year of faith, have seminars and workshops about it but if it doesn't begin in our deeds and actions then we wasting time.
We should encourage our young people to come and serve in the church because education without God is useless. We should us our education in the service of our brothers and sisters.
Vocation is a free will. You have a choice to say yes or no and no one will tell u because its your personal choice. Freedom is the power of sound reason and will. Robert Huber states responsibity is the fruit of freedom. Vocation is not forced.Calling are always there but identify the voice calling and make the right choice. Being a religious means leaving everything behind which are your constitunal freedom and accepting to live a stipulated way of life. You should learn to live the routine always and be focused. In the choise you make perserver n live it happy sothat others may follow your example.
The ceremony was attended by priests fromNairobi, Kisumu, Kakamega,Bungoma ,Kitale,Machakos And Uganda . Many religious congregation and consolata missionaries was represented by Fr. wanyonyi IMC and Br.Wekesa. with a host of christians who came to witness this occassion. By Donald Mwenesa
